Some diary dates for your planner. Knockmealdown crossing on Saturday the 14th April with three different levels of walks planned, more details neared the date.

The Annual General Meeting of Mountaineering Ireland takes place in Minella Hotel on the weekend of the 10th March with the Peaks Club organising a schedule of led walk for the weekend.

Sunday on the Knockmealdown was other great days walking and with Kevin O Donnell leading the walk started from Newcastle and worked its way to the scenic glen. Sean and Fionnuala kept order in the ranks as the walk had forty five club members to lead. Crossing the Cappoquin Road Kevin led eastwards on the new section of the East Munster Way and climbed Knockperry. The views were stunning and at this point the climber can see where the Nire River joins the river Suir. Turning westwards Kevin crossed the road again and picked up the Glen stream near the mass rock and using the stream as his guide led back to Newcastle by some spectacular waterfalls and wooded paths.Log onto our club websitye for more info at www.peaksmcclonmel.ie or call the Pro Bernard on mobile no 0862937220 for info on a very healthy and fulfilling pastime.
